Healing and Recreating

Sometimes some incidents consume our mind so much that it becomes hard to let the emotions connected to them go off. Some words pierce our heart to an extent that they stay within us for years to come. Some people hurt us to an extent that a trauma bond is created with their memories. No matter how much those memories strangle us we get stuck at revisiting them in our mind as if we are re-watching a movie multiple time with different “what-if” scenarios. Though it feels entertaining to watch your favourite movies multiple times, it’s not the same with the memories of a trauma bond. The emotional and mental health are impacted by such memories and incidents for decades to come. Healing becomes hard but must happen. You may not change the actions and choices of people who gave you those wounds but you can control the impact of those memories in your mind. It is up to you how you find the light in the darkness.

Whenever you find your mind wandering around those memories which are only going to leave you in tears and in suffocation at the end, watch your thoughts, become an observer as if you are the bird viewing the glimpse from the sky. Break the chain of your thoughts. Walk out. Get engaged in an activity which occupies your mind. Dance. Swim. Exercise. Play on the ground. Go on a friends meet up. Visit a family member. Just break the chain of thoughts.

Make peace with what you can not change now. Make a list of regrets and fantasies if any attached to the scenario. Name your emotions – anger, revenge , frustration, sadness, grief, pain you know them all. Also understand, grief has stages and phases which changes the intensity of those emotions with time. Give it time. Talk it out. Write it down. Express. Draw. Create. Let go. Travel. Explore.

Once you know the questions in your mind are a response of grief. Write down those questions and the answers you want. Understand it is the grief that is making you revisit those memories. Hence actively create reasons to become happier in your present life. List down things which brings peace in your mind and actively seek them in your present. Stay connected to people who talk to you positively. Watch movies with similar stories, you may find it connecting and hence may help to process those emotions.

Actively start making peace with what you can not change. Surrender it to universe. Pray. Let go. Heal for yourself. Remember once you heal, life re-begins after that. There are n number of goals that you can work on and achieve. There will be n number of people you can care about. There will be dreams to live and there will be reasons to be inspired of for your next journey.

And that is why it is important to heal as your mind will stay focused on those memories until you heal. And focus is your biggest power as a human. You become what you focus upon. Hence, your focus must be productive, your focus must be creative. Your mind must help you to become better version of you and not destroy you with some toxic
memories which are less than a few percent of your lifetime.

Your inner powers are bigger than what you can imagine. Untap your potential by knocking the doors of universal power and determine to heal for yourself and your loved ones. The comfort of reaching at a higher realm of healing makes your mind calmer and the peace created makes your thoughts clearer and that experience is far soothing than living with painful thoughts. And thus, healing emotionally must be your first goal.
